🫶 Learning and Growing Together This February

As we move into the month of February, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strong start to the new year and to thank you for your continued dedication to our schools and to one another.

February is a time that invites us to pause and recognize important moments of learning, reflection, and connection. This month, we proudly observe Black History Month, honoring the achievements, contributions, and resilience of Black leaders, educators, and change-makers whose impact continues to shape our world. Our schools will engage students in meaningful learning experiences that encourage understanding, respect, and appreciation for diverse histories and perspectives.

February also reminds us of the importance of kindness, empathy, and community. Whether through classroom collaboration, acts of service, or simply supporting one another during the winter months, these values remain at the heart of our district’s mission.

I am grateful every day for the dedication of our staff, the curiosity and perseverance of our students, and the partnership of our families and community. Together, we continue to create learning environments where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired.

Thank you for all that you do to make our district a place of excellence and care. I look forward to the continued learning and growth that the months ahead will bring.

Warm regards,
Dr. Melissa Alderman, Superintendent

🚌 Working Together for Safe and Smooth Drop-Off and Pick-Up

As we move through the school year, we would like to take a moment to remind all families to please be patient, courteous, and respectful to one another during student drop-off and pick-up times. We are all in this together, working toward the same goal—keeping our students and children safe.

To ensure safety and efficiency for all students, staff, and families, we ask that everyone continue to follow established drop-off and pick-up procedures. Please be sure to check with your specific school site for any location-specific procedures, designated areas, times, or updates.

These same expectations also apply during after-school dismissal, including pick-up for the Right At School program.

By working together and showing kindness and consideration, we can help make arrival and dismissal smooth and safe for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and continued partnership in supporting our schools.
